Darrin Peters

Darrin Peters is the Founder and President of Midwest Underground Technology, Inc. (MUTI), Founder of Vertical Tower Partners, LLC, and Co-Founder and Vice President of Sky Enterprise, Inc.  He also serves as President of the Board on all of the aforementioned organizations.  Peters has been active in the telecommunications industry for over 15 years, having founded and organized MUTI in 1999.

Throughout his professional career, Peters has worked both domestically and internationally, supporting many Fortune 500 companies.  Peters and MUTI have been recognized by INC Magazine, as one of America’s Fastest Growing private companies in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013.

Peters developed and authored a specialized industry related site inspection software program currently utilized by several major telecommunications companies across the United States. This inspection software program is widely recognized as the premier site inspection program in the tower industry.

He also developed several innovative methods and procedures to improve, streamline, and maximize efficiencies applicable to the telecommunications tower construction and maintenance industry, which are recognized and implemented by numerous high profile companies throughout the United States.   

Peters is a strong advocate of employee safety, demonstrated by several years of involvement in the regional and national OSHA/NATE Partnership Programs. He is an active sponsor of the internationally recognized National Association of Tower Erectors organization and mandates a stringent company-wide superior health and safety program for all employees.

Peters majored in business and received his business degree from Parkland College located in Champaign, IL.  He and his family presently reside in Mahomet, IL and are active in outdoor sports, civic and community volunteer activities.

Scott Kisting

Scott Kisting brings over 20 years experience in the telecommunications and structural steel industry to MUTI.  He was a Subject Matter Expert for the OSHA Training Institute and has worked with members of the TIA committee.  Kisting has worked on towers in one facet or another in all 50 states.  He has been involved in site acquisition, zoning, site design, implementation, and long term asset management.  Kisting began his career in the industry, climbing and erecting towers.  He currently works towards the improvement of standards for the telecommunications industry as a whole.

In his current role as Senior Vice President Kisting is responsible for upholding the founding principles of Client Service, Safety and Quality that MUTI is known for.  Kisting has a passion for the people he gets to work with whether they are internal or external clients.  Using the methodology or Structure, Safety, and System our organization ensures that our team members understand what is to be done and how to perform the work with a true commitment to safety and a desire for quality.  Kisting also works with our clients to ensure that they are provided with the information and support necessary to protect and maintain their assets while at the same time controlling the cost to do so by insuring that the applicable industry standards are met and that value is provided to the clients.  Our organization is also committed to supporting our clients through risk management tools to better prioritize the infrastructure support of their systems.  Kisting is also responsible for initial M&A discussions.

Dan Baker

Dan P. Baker is Senior Vice President of Operations. He has been in construction industry for over 30 years and has executed over 600 projects worth collectively more than $600 million.  Dan is well versed in delivering projects in a variety of way including design-build, construction management, general contracting and self-performance.  Throughout Dan’s career he has had twelve guiding principles: performance, growth, do the right thing, customer satisfaction, winning team work, control risk, communication, cash management, quality, costs, schedule and safety.

Jason McBride

Joining MUTI in 2005, Jason McBride serves the company as the Area Director for the St. Louis region and manages the daily operations for the O’Fallon, MO office. McBride has over 20 years of general construction and telecommunications related experience.  Beginning his career as a tower technician, he has genuine understanding of the industry and applies this knowledge to provide customers with the best product available.  Specific areas of experience include obstruction lighting and compliance, civil and tower construction, zoning, site acquisition, and site development.  He holds several industry related licenses, accreditations, and certifications.

Richard Lazarski
National

Richard Lazarski-PMP is Currently Program Director with MUTI as of June of 2013 bringing 14 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. 
 
Rich started work in the field as a construction field manager and has worked in many different capacities along the way from equipment engineering to project manager. During his extensive career he’s completed several hundred new site builds for carrier projects as well as completed equipment installation designs for hundreds more.  In addition he’s brought experience in large scale site development and equipment deployments during his tenure with Carrier and third party service providers.  As a certified PMP he brings along his collaborative approach to project management.  Rich and family currently reside in the near Western suburbs of Chicago.  He also enjoys repairing all manner of mechanical equipment as well as taking cross country road trips and traveling with his family.

Chad Sumner is the Vice President of Facility Services for MUTI.  With fourteen years of delivering results and driving customer satisfaction he has a broad experience in both manufacturing and construction services.  Chad is an exceptional leader, communicator, learner and teacher who builds effective partnerships with employees, customers and stakeholders.

Barry Schlickman
Regional

Barry Schlickman joined MUTI in 2000, with the formation of the company. He originated as Operations Manager and now serves as the Vice President of Operations for the company. He brings over 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry to MUTI, having worked in technical management with various telecommunications companies. 

In his current role as Vice President of Operations Mr. Schlickman is accountable to our team members and clients to ensure that they receive the highest levels of service and quality while ensuring that we have the safest work environment.  Barry has an innate desire to help people grow and shows this concern by driving towards the education of all of our people from the new hires to the most tenured of our team.  Barry continues in his role to support client outages and emergency response situations.  This includes the oversight of the generator installation and fueling project which provides for 24-hour service consisting of continual fueling of generators at numerous sites throughout the United States.  Barry’s most valuable contribution to the organization is his ability to work the problem and ensure the proper resources for the task at hand.
