MUTI has been involved with utility construction since the inception of the company utilizing directional boring technology. Directional boring, commonly called horizontal directional drilling or HDD, is a method of installing underground pipes and conduits along a prescribed bore path from the surface, with minimal impact to the surrounding area. Directional boring and vacuum excavation enables MUTI to complete unique and often difficult projects from downtown congested areas and street crossings to communications fiber installation through wetland areas.
